McDonald Lewanika is a politics and development researcher and practitioner with over 20 years of experience working on democracy, rights, and governance in Africa. He currently serves as Chief of Party on an Accountability Lab project, New Narratives for Accountability in Zimbabwe, and is The Lab’s AL Regional Director for South and East Africa.
Lewanika holds an MA in International Development from the University of Manchester's Global Development Institute, and a PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Lewanika served as the Political Settlements and In-City Politics lead for Harare for the African Cities Research Consortium.
