INTRODUCTION
The Start-up Meet-up is a unique session that is specifically designed for start-ups and will be held at the Privacy Symposium Africa in Port Louis, Mauritius. The session aims to provide start-ups with a comprehensive understanding of the different privacy issues that are of concern to them and equip them with the knowledge and tools to address these issues in their business operations.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Start-up Meet-up are as follows:
a) To provide start-ups with an overview of different privacy issues that are of concern to them.
b) To share best practices and strategies for addressing privacy issues in start-up operations.
c) To explore different approaches for incorporating privacy by design principles into product development and design processes.
d) To identify challenges faced by start-ups in addressing privacy issues and explore solutions to overcome these challenges.
e) To facilitate networking opportunities among start-ups, investors, and other stakeholders in the privacy and data protection ecosystem.
Format:
The Start-up Meet-up will feature a variety of presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions. The session will begin with a keynote address by a prominent privacy expert who will provide an overview of the different privacy issues that start-ups should be aware of.
This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring experienced entrepreneurs who will share their experiences in addressing privacy issues in their businesses. The panel discussion will focus on the challenges faced by start-ups in addressing these issues and the strategies they used to overcome these challenges.
After the panel discussion, there will be a series of case studies presented by successful start-ups in the privacy and data protection sector. These case studies will highlight how these start-ups addressed privacy issues in their operations and the approaches they took to incorporate privacy by design principles into their product development and design processes.
